Publication Ethics

Bale Journal of Education is a peer-reviewed international journal published twice a year (June and December). This statement outlines the ethical standards expected from all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. This policy is based on the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and best practices in scholarly publishing.


Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of articles in Bale Journal of Education is an essential contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the field of education. All published works reflect the quality of the research and the institutions supporting the authors. Therefore, maintaining high ethical standards is crucial for ensuring the credibility and integrity of the journal.

The publisher is committed to ensuring that all editorial decisions are independent and free from commercial influence. The editorial board will support communication with other journals or institutions when necessary to uphold ethical standards.


Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are accepted for publication based on their academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Decisions must comply with legal requirements such as copyright, plagiarism, and libel laws.


Fair Play

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on intellectual content without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs.


Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information to unauthorized parties.


Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Reviewers assist editors in making decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts through constructive feedback.


Promptness

Reviewers should complete reviews within the given timeframe or inform the editor if they are unable to do so.


Confidentiality

All manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others.


Objectivity

Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. All comments should be supported by clear arguments.


Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant works that have not been cited and report any similarity or overlap with other publications.


Conflict of Interest

Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist and must not use unpublished information for personal advantage.


Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors must present accurate, honest, and objective research results. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail for replication.


Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their work is original. Proper citation must be provided for all sources used.


Multiple or Concurrent Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publish redundant work.


Acknowledgment of Sources

Authorship
